Agung Sedayu Retail Indonesia (ASRI) is serious about developing its newest retail project, District 8. To make it happen, they are collaborating with Winkreative and Monocle Magazine.
Winkreativ is a London creative agent focused on development. Whereas Monocle is a contemporary design icon that has influence and reaches city centers throughout the world, and informs many aspects of global life.
In a presentation entitled Reimagining Retail, Lizzie Parsons as Senior Strategist from Winkreative explained the Lifestyle Hub. This means a space for visitors to actualize themselves and experience their own different destinations.
That is, continued Lizzie, District 8 is not just a shopping center but a space to express lifestyle. This is offered through the pillars carried by District 8, namely connectedness, universality, authenticity, creativity and perfect imperfections.
“Leasing in the development of the new District 8 adopts the above concept as a ‘lifestyle space’ that will offer space for the community and offer a unique experience. This is something that will make it a destination rather than a mere shopping place,” said Jessa Setiabudi, Deputy GM Leasing Distric 8, Monday (5/27/2019).
In his presentation the Winkreative team also offered ways on how retail companies could contribute to this new concept. Examples are taken from experimental retail projects in Japan, the Netherlands and the United States.
“We ask entrepreneurs to imagine how over time, development will foster a true cultural relationship between people who think the same, become a developing cultural goal,” said Ariel Childs, Managing Director of Winkreative.
Agung Sedayu Retail Indonesia will become the first pioneer in the world of retail and lifestyle by applying this new concept with Winkreative and Monocle Magazine. The plan is Distric 8 the Market Place will be launched at the end of 2019.
District 8 Jakarta is a developing area owned by Agung Sedayu Group. Inside there are as many as seven towers or towers which are located right in the heart of the Sudirman business in South Jakarta.
The retail project located in this strategic location was built with world-class architecture, has a luxurious interior, and consists of a five-storey retail podium covering an area of 15,000 square meters.
